INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

I offer individual therapy services to adults.

This is an opportunity for you to work one-on-one with a therapist on the challenges you may be facing.

My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and focused on YOU. Together we will become curious about where you are at, how you got there, and where you want to go with your wellness.

I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches that are tailored to meet my client’s needs. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Theory, Somatic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy).

All are welcome in my therapy space and I strive to be an ally for individuals from various cultural backgrounds and expressions of identity and sexuality.

NEUROFEEDBACK

I am excited to offer NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback to be used in conjunction with or as an alternative to talk therapy. NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback is an advanced self-regulation brain training tool that helps ensure your brain functions at its best. Similarly to how we get stuck in unhelpful behavior and thought patterns, our brain’s cortical activity also gets stuck in unhelpful patterns. When our brain functions at its best, we can seamlessly move from tasks and bounce back from challenges in flexible, controlled ways.

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback is designed to communicate directly with your central nervous system, providing moment-to-moment information that your brain needs to reorganize itself. NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback is like holding a mirror up to your brain; just as you would adjust your appearance in a mirror, the feedback or information your brain receives allows it the opportunity to make natural adjustments that enhance brain flexibility and regulation. Anyone can benefit from NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback, no diagnosis is needed, and there are no side effects.

  • Enhanced focus and concentration

  • More energy

  • An enhanced ability to feel calm and relaxed

  • Enhanced patience and decreased reactivity

  • Enhanced anxiety and stress management

  • Mood improvements – feeling more internally balanced

  • Decreased distractions and improved memory

  • An ability to manage the daily challenges of life more effectively

EMDR

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy approach to treating trauma, anxiety, phobias, depression, and addictions. EMDR is a focused approach that helps us to process past experiences or memories that are tied to current distress. EMDR works by allowing you to connect with the thoughts, emotions, images, and body sensations associated the presenting symptoms that are causing you distress. Clients tend to come out of EMDR therapy with a different relationship to past experiences, shifts in unhelpful cognitions and beliefs about themselves, and a decrease in emotional arousal related to past events.

EMDR uses a technique called bilateral stimulation, which stimulates the left and right hemispheres of the brain. This stimulation, which can be provided through eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones, aids in the process of appropriately processing and reducing the distress associated with certain memories or experiences.

I recommend EMDR therapy to those clients who find they are still stuck in past experiences, who have tried other types of therapy to change thought, emotion, or behavior patterns and have not been successful, or who have experienced past events identified as traumatic and have not had the support of therapy to explore the full impact of these events.
